Safety management systems and guidelines
Whether on the front line or in our offices, safety underlines every activity we undertake here at Transdev. When it comes to the safety of our teams, our customers and our communities, Transdev takes a holistic approach with everyone from our drivers, mechanics and engineers through to our Senior Managers and Managing Director taking part.
Transdev NSW is accredited by the Transport for NSW Bus Operator Accreditation Scheme (BOAS) as required by the Passenger Transport Act 1990 to operate bus and coach services including school charter services. Our business is also accredited under RMS Clean Fleet Guidelines.
We hold ISO accreditations including:
- ISO 9001 Quality Management
- ISO 14001 Environmental Management
- AS4801 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems
We are proud to consistently perform above the benchmarks established in the NSW Government Sydney Metropolitan Bus Services Contracts in reliability and customer satisfaction.
Vehicle safety and inspections
All vehicles operated by Transdev NSW are roadworthy and meet the government standards required under NSW Operator Accreditation with Transport for NSW. All vehicles are subjected to daily checks and go through biannual mechanical inspections by Roads and Maritime Services’ Motor Vehicle Examiners.
Driver safety and licensing
All drivers employed by Transdev NSW are suitably licensed by the Roads and Maritime Services and are holders of authorities to drive Public Passenger Vehicles issued by Transport for NSW.
This authorisation attests that the driver has been subjected to checks, including Working with Children clearance in accordance with the requirements of the Office of the Children’s Guardian, to confirm they are of good repute and in all other respects, fit and proper person, as well as having sufficient responsibility and aptitude to drive a Public Passenger Vehicle.
